TELEVISION : Here’re the Other TV Specials

In addition to the ABC and CBS documentaries on Pearl Harbor, numerous others are scheduled in the weeks ahead, including:

* Cable’s Discovery Channel plans Pearl Harbor-related programming Dec. 6-8, including “Pearl Harbor: Attack” on Dec. 7.

* “Secret Subs of Pearl Harbor,” a documentary about the handful of Japanese midget subs that were lying in wait near Pearl Harbor before the attack. It premieres Dec. 8. on TBS cable.

* On Dec. 8, CNN will broadcast a one-hour special, “Pearl Harbor: Fifty Years After.” The program will combine historical footage with highlights of the commemorative ceremonies in Hawaii on Dec. 7, which CNN will broadcast live.

* Edward Woodward hosts “Remembering Pearl Harbor,” featuring interviews with survivors, Dec. 7 on KCAL Channel 9.

* “World War II: A Personal Journey” will air on the Disney Channel for four consecutive nights, beginning Dec. 7, featuring interviews with prominent Americans about their wartime experiences.

* Cable’s Arts & Entertainment Network will note the Dec. 7 anniversary with an installment of “Victory at Sea,” the highly praised series for which Broadway composer Richard Rodgers wrote the music.

* Request TV will be offering, Dec. 7-22, “Memories of War: Pearl Harbor . . . Then and Now,” which it says is the first documentary to debut on national pay-per-view TV. Cost: $3.

* On a dramatic note, NBC plans to rerun the miniseries “Pearl” that was broadcast on ABC in 1978, on Dec. 3, 4, 6 and 7, with Dennis Weaver, Robert Wagner and Angie Dickinson in the leading roles as people caught up in the events immediately before, during and after the attack.
