Baldwin Park : Tree Recycling Approved
The City Council voted unanimously Wednesday to establish a voluntary Christmas tree recycling program next month.
Residents who want to recycle their Christmas trees can take them to the city’s park-and-ride lot at Badillo Street and Ramona Boulevard on Dec. 28 or Jan. 4, said Ellen Volmert, assistant to the city manager.
The trees will be taken free of charge to landfills, where they will be used in the green-waste landfill-cover program. The voluntary recycling program will not replace the traditional curbside garbage pickup of discarded Christmas trees, Volmert said.
