Pico Rivera : Relaxed Business Sign Laws Get Final Council Approval
- Share via
The City Council has given final approval to revisions in Pico Rivera’s sign laws that will make it easier for merchants to advertise their businesses. For the first time, the city will allow businesses to display Christmas advertising for 21 days without a permit and place signs and merchandise in their windows, among other changes.
The previous laws came under criticism when the city began enforcing sign ordinances two years ago. For more than a year, city planners have negotiated with business owners on revised ordinances that both could live with.
The new codes still contain limits on the size and number of signs. City officials said merchants can inquire at City Hall for specific information on what signs are allowed.
