Torrey Pines Falls in Tournament

A sluggish third quarter felled Torrey Pines as host East High picked up a 65-53 victory late Tuesday in the Great Alaskan High School Classic at Anchorage.

Trailing by only four at the half, 31-27, Torrey Pines managed only eight third-quarter points and could not recover.

Craig Brown led Torrey Pines with 14 points and six rebounds and Peter Bates added 11 points.

Three East players scored in double figures--Trajan Langdon (20), Howard Combs (15) and Mark Schweigart (15).
