Man or Meadow?

I regret to destroy the romantic charisma given to Camp “Vogelsang” in the High Sierra by Chuck Mitchell (“Heaven Is Hiking the Sierra--With Hot Showers,” Nov. 17). (The word ‘Vogelsang’) has nothing to do with “meadow,” but means in German “bird song” and is named in honor of a park ranger by that name.
