Raining Benefits: The Amazon Campaign of Rainforest Action Network (RAN), which works to protect the world’s tropical rain forests, will benefit from three screenings tonight of “At Play in the Fields of the Lord,” a new film about greed vs. ideals in the Brazilian rain forest. Stars Kathy Bates, Aidan Quinn and Tom Waits are scheduled to attend the Los Angeles screening at the General Cinema Beverly Connection. New York and San Francisco also will host screenings. The movie opens Friday.
