Al Cafaro, president and chief executive of A&M; Records in Los Angeles, has taken on the additional title of executive vice president of Polygram Holding Inc.

The London-based Polygram is A&M;’s parent company. Cafaro’s new duties will include overseeing Mercury records, another Polygram subsidiary. Polygram Chairman Alain Levy said he looked to Cafaro to help build Mercury into a “well-balanced and growing music company.”
