Hanukkah Remembered: As usual, most of the malls creating hoopla over Christmas shopping have overlooked the other important religious holiday this month, Hanukkah.
But the managers of Laguna Hills Mall didn’t forget. The mall conducted a Menorah lighting festival this week in conjunction with the Irvine Community Chabad. The Menorah was placed in front of Brooks Fashions on Monday and a new candle is being lighted each day through Sunday.
Separately, the Laguna Hills mall is sponsoring a book drive to benefit Olive Crest Homes for Abused Children. Volunteers will staff a booth in front of the closed Buffums store in the center of the mall to accept contributions of new or slightly used books.
