Buck Coach Resigns but Stays in Front Office

Citing changes in the NBA, Del Harris announced Wednesday that he was stepping down as coach of the Milwaukee Bucks to concentrate on his role as the team’s vice president of basketball operations. He was replaced by his leading assistant, Frank Hamblen.
Harris, 54, compiled a 191-154 regular-season record, including an 8-9 mark this season. He said rising player salaries, higher franchise values and media coverage made it difficult to fulfill his dual role.
