OUTLOOK
Four points separated Ocean View from fifth place with their 5-7 Sunset League record and third place at 7-5. The Seahawks lost league games to Marina and Fountain Valley by one point, so Martin says they aren’t far from the top. Buoying his hopes are all-league players Vivion, Brun and Lindquist. Vivion, who shot 52.6% from the field and averaged 13.3 points, is Ocean View’s top returner. Columbia and Washington are among the schools recruiting Vivion, a 5-foot-11 center. Brun, a four-year varsity player, begins her second season as the point guard and Lindquist, is the shooting-guard who set a single-season school record last year with 27 three-pointers. Lindquist also made five three-pointers in one game, also a school record. “We were real young last year, so that experience will help us,” Martin said. “Also, we lost only two games during the summer so that is encouraging.”
