50th Anniversary of Pearl Harbor

In response to “Japan May Apologize--but Bush Won’t,” Dec. 2:
God forgive U.S. for arrogance: President Bush says we will not consider an apology (for Hiroshima and Nagasaki)!
The Hollywood Christmas parade took the same route as if nothing had happened. Yet all is changed--after Dec. 7, Aug. 6 and Jan. 15. Johnny Grant made the decision to use the Christmas Parade route for the War Parade on May 19. All has changed. God forgive us for claiming to celebrate Christmas, the birth of the prince of peace, on the route where we celebrated death: The “victory” death of 100 of our own citizens and over 200,000 of our sisters and brothers whom we called “enemy.”
The anniversary of Pearl Harbor like the bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki should bring us all into prayer for the end of war: “War never again!”
