Body Is Found in Balboa Park

Police, responding to an anonymous tip, found a partly buried body in Balboa Park on Sunday afternoon, authorities said.
At 1:09 p.m. police went to 6th Avenue and Laurel Street, where they found the body buried on the path underneath the Laurel Street bridge, said Sgt. Micki Farrell, a spokeswoman for the San Diego Police Department. The dead person’s shoes protruded from the shallow grave near California 163, she said.
Police are seeking the identity of the dead person. They provided no other details.
