Former NBA player Sly Williams, 33, was recaptured after fleeing a New Haven, Conn., hospital where he was treated for a stab wound he received in a fight with his girlfriend, police said.

Police said Williams, who played for the New York Knicks and Boston Celtics during the 1980s, was found in the bedroom of a New Haven house. Williams was sought for violation of probation and for his role in a fight Dec. 2 that left him with a stab wound in the neck, was taken to Yale-New Haven Hospital under police watch, authorities said.

Williams faces one count of third-degree assault and two counts of violation of probation.
