Bad Travel Agent: Lance Neal, an assistant football coach at Irvine, will face a dilemma Saturday. He is supposed to be at Orange Coast College, where the Vaqueros play Dana Hills for the Division II championship. He is also booked on a flight to Australia, which leaves Los Angeles at 10:30 p.m. The game begins at 7:30 p.m.
The airline ticket, which cost $1,200, is non-refundable.
“He says he’s going to the game and will still try to make the flight,” Irvine Coach Terry Henigan said.
Dana Hills Coach Don Douglass said: “I guess that means you’re going to have to run the ball.”
Said Henigan: “No, it just means we have to have the game wrapped up by the end of the third quarter.”
