Having Their Say: In addition to making their annual awards over the weekend, Los Angeles film critics passed a special resolution deploring the current “lamentable” state of film distribution and exhibition and its heavy slant toward big English-language commercial movies. This widespread bias, the resolution stated, has largely prevented the public from seeing outstanding foreign films by Federico Fellini, Jean-Luc Godard, Michelangelo Antonioni and Satyajit Ray, among others.
