Pico Products Inc., a Lake View Terrace manufacturer of equipment for the cable television industry, said it earned $187,197 in the fiscal first quarter that ended Oct. 31, contrasted with a $391,652 loss last year.
Revenues grew 25% to $5.8 million from $4.6 million last year, Pico said.
It was the first quarter since fiscal 1988 that Pico posted an operating profit, said the company’s chairman, Everett T. Keech. The $141,123 operating profit was also the company’s largest since fiscal 1987, he said.
Keech attributed the results to a reduction in overhead and interest expenses as a result of a restructuring begun in the fall of 1990. Sales of Pico’s main subsidiary, Pico Macom Inc., have also been recovering because of increased sales of its cable systems and components in the United States and South America, Pico said.
