Disney and Image Sign Pact: Walt Disney Co. said its Buena Vista Home Video unit has reached a four-year agreement with Chatsworth laser disc distributor Image Entertainment Inc. for the marketing and distribution of Disney films on laser disc in the United States and Canada. As part of the agreement, Disney obtained a warrant that enables it to purchase up to 10% of Image. A Disney spokesman called the investment in Image, whose sales of “Fantasia” on laser disc have set an industry record, “a strong indication of our mutual role in the format’s future.”
