Baldwin Park : Recycling Fee on Trash Bills
- Share via
Beginning in February, residents will be charged an additional 25 cents a month on their trash bills for curbside recycling.
The City Council voted Wednesday to approve the recycling fee, which is written into the city’s contract with its trash collection agency. However, the council turned down a staff proposal to charge residents an additional 3% of their trash bills to cover the costs of meeting state requirements for reducing waste.
Councilman Martin Gallegos asked city staff to try to cover that cost with funds from the current city budget.
