Fire Fatal to 2 Dogs in Huntington Beach

HUNTINGTON BEACH — Two dogs died in a fire Tuesday that did modest damage to a house and a garage, fire officials said.
Owners of the home discovered the fire when they returned from a church service about 9 p.m., Battalion Chief William Cooper said.
The fire, at 20131 Interior Lane, began in a living room area of the two-story house and spread to the attached garage It was put out in about 15 minutes, officials said.
The dogs, whose breed was not available, were overcome by smoke and died at the scene, officials said. The cause of the fire is under investigation, Cooper said.
