BUENA PARK : Centralia Trustees Name New President

John M. Alvis, who is completing his third year on the Centralia School District Board of Trustees, was recently chosen to serve as the panel’s new president, replacing Jerry Buchanan.
Alvis, a La Palma resident, was appointed during the board’s annual organizational meeting this month. Also elected to board offices were Karen Blake as clerk and Robert Lindsey as clerk pro tem.
In other action, the board decided to hold its regular meetings next year on the first and third Tuesdays of each month. The Centralia district has eight schools and serves La Palma, Buena Park and Anaheim.
