Two Simi Valley men were arrested in the act of stealing telephones and walkie-talkies from Hillside Junior High School, police said Sunday.
Brian Pedigo, 27, and Michael Bennett, 24, were arrested late Friday on suspicion of burglarizing the school on Fitzgerald Road in Simi Valley, police said.
About 11 p.m., officers investigating a silent alarm at the school spotted Pedigo climbing out of a smashed window in the administration building at the north end of the campus, police said. Bennett was arrested outside the building, apparently acting as a lookout, police said.
The knapsack that Pedigo was carrying contained telephones and walkie-talkies estimated to be worth $2,000, police said.
Pedigo is being held on $10,000 bail at Ventura County Jail and is scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday. Bennett, who has been released, is scheduled to be arraigned on Jan. 6.
