Cullinan Diamond rallied from last in the field of 12 to win the $124,200 Ticonderoga Handicap at Aqueduct in New York by 4 3/4 lengths. Cullinan Diamond, carrying 110 pounds and ridden by Art Madrid Jr., covered 1 1/16 miles on the sloppy track in 1:46 for her first victory in 15 starts this year. She earned $74,520.
Cullinan Diamond paid $23.60, $7.80 and $4.20. Violetera paid $15.20 and $8.20 for finishing second and Sophisticated Sam paid $4.40 to show.
