Concordia Tops UCSD, Advances to the Finals

UC San Diego never recovered from its cold shooting early in the second half and fell to Concordia (Wis.), 81-74, in the semifinals of the Triton women’s basketball tournament Sunday night at UCSD.
UCSD was tied with Concordia (7-1) at halftime, 41-41. But the Tritons immediately fell seven points behind and never got within five after that.
Forwards Lisa Beaver (24 points, 12 rebounds) and Erica Scholl (23 points, 11 rebounds) led the Tritons (5-3). Stacey Winkleman and Livija Medne had 20 points each for Concordia.
UCSD will play Occidental (3-5) tonight at 6 for third place, while Concordia plays Gustavus Adolphus (4-2) in the finals at 8.
