Controversy Over ‘Cop Killer’ Rap

Know what Sister Souljah, Murphy Brown and Willie Horton have in common? They are all easy targets. Oh, how simple it is to appear self-righteous and powerful when picking a fight with an easy mark.

These controversies get the blood going but they don’t provide solutions. At best, they generate a lot of useless heat. At worst, they exploit society’s fears. We need leaders who are courageous enough to talk about the very real and complex issues facing this country. America is in big trouble.
