Reward Increased in Temple Assault

Jewish groups have raised to $10,000 the reward being offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the people responsible for desecrating a Del Cerro synagogue in a recent anti-Semitic attack.

Morris Casuto, local head of the Anti-Defamation League, said Thursday that the reward money--which was originally $2,500--was raised by his organization, the Temple Emanu-El Synagogue on Capri Drive and other members of the community “who wanted to help.”

“At least a quarter (of the $10,000) came from a non-Jewish individual who said he was outraged by the attack,” Casuto said, “and wanted to do what he could to help.”

Casuto said the Anti-Defamation League plans to distribute posters advertising the reward throughout the area, especially at nearby schools. No suspects have yet surfaced in the case, authorities said.
