Troubled by Tijuana
I would like to express my amazement at your choice of a cover article on Tijuana (“It’s Not Melrose, It’s TJ,” Oct. 11). I couldn’t really figure out why you would send two apparently-not-so-young-anymore writers across the border to report on discos and conspicuous-consumption-style boutiques while worrying about crow’s feet.
Too much of the travel journalism in your paper is based on the individual writer’s personal knowledge and experience and too little on facts and history.
