Troubled by Tijuana

Is there really a need for Stein and Krier to inform us that Tijuana boasts only a small number of Beamers with telephones? It is a pretty sad commentary on how far we haven’t come when we still judge foreign countries by how inexpensively our rampant consumerism can be satiated. Culture be damned. Give me those Guess jeans!
