A motorist died early Wednesday after he apparently was tossed from his car when it struck a curb and overturned, the California Highway Patrol reported.
Authorities said Scott S. Tuttle, 23, of Costa Mesa died shortly after the 1 a.m. accident along the northbound lanes of Laguna Canyon Road at the San Diego Freeway. Tuttle was traveling at an unknown speed when his car hit a curb and overturned. He was tossed from the car.
Tuttle had one passenger who was not identified and who was not injured, CHP spokesman Robert Polzin said.
The victim died of head injuries, according to the county coroner’s office.
The CHP investigation into the accident is continuing, Polzin said.
