YORBA LINDA : PacTel Cellular to Lease Parkland
- Share via
A lease agreement with a cellular phone company will bring the city $6,000 in revenue for parks and recreation.
PacTel Cellular will lease about 500 square feet of land at Valley View Sports Park for a cellular antenna and relay station. The construction of the station will involve removing a light pole. However, lights will be reinstalled after the antenna is erected.
A 480-square-foot parcel will be leased to build a relay station. However, since all but a small access hatch will be built below ground, the amount of parkland will be essentially the same.
The lease will bring in $6,000 a year, to be adjusted annually based on the Consumer Price Index.
Revenue generated by the lease has been designated for parks and recreation purposes.
