PANORAMA CITY : Bernardi Recovering From Colon Cancer Surgery

Los Angeles City Councilman Ernani Bernardi was recovering Friday in a Panorama City hospital after surgery eight days earlier to remove a cancerous tumor from his colon.
Bernardi, who turned 81 a day before the Oct. 30 operation, said he has been told by his doctors that he will make a full recovery and will be able to return to his office before retiring July 1.
“They said it was all very good, a complete recovery,” Bernardi said Friday from the hospital. “It’s all very encouraging.”
