Estancia Wrestling Event Features No. 1 El Modena

Top-ranked El Modena heads the field in the 32-team Estancia wrestling tournament, which begins at 3 p.m. Friday and continues at 9 a.m. Saturday.
The Vanguards are led by Juan Alvarez at 130 pounds (second-ranked individually in Orange County), Todd Cameron (No. 3 at 140 pounds), Chris Jaime (No. 4 at 145) and Ryan Hughes (No. 4 at 160).
Third-ranked Savanna and sixth-ranked San Clemente will compete in the Orange Glen tournament Friday and Saturday at Escondido. Second-ranked Calvary Chapel, which won the Montclair Invitational last week, is idle this weekend.
This week’s tournaments are the final tuneups before the prestigious Five Counties Invitational Jan. 15-16 at Fountain Valley High.
