Pistons Must Rebound Without Rodman, Out Three to Six Weeks

AUBURN HILLS, Mich. — Dennis Rodman, the NBA’s leading rebounder, will be out of the Detroit Pistons’ lineup for three to six weeks because of a torn right calf muscle.
A Piston spokesman said Rodman, who was injured during Thursday night’s 108-91 loss at Atlanta, was examined Friday by doctors in Philadelphia. Tests revealed the small tear in his right calf muscle.
No decision on roster changes had been made, the spokesman said. Detroit plays the 76ers tonight in Philadelphia.
Rodman, averaging 19.6 rebounds per game, had six points and 11 rebounds Thursday when he was hurt with 4:12 left in the second quarter.
