Ad Agency Founder Dies at 70: Stanley H. Katz, a founding father of the advertising business who retired in 1991 as vice chairman of Foote Cone & Belding Communications Inc., has died at the age of 70, the company announced yesterday. The company said Katz died suddenly on Tuesday but it did not disclose a cause of death. Katz was one in a trio of legendary ad agency founders that included David Ogilvy and Bill Bernbach. Bruce Mason, chairman and chief executive of Foot Cone, described Katz as “one of the most indomitable spirits the advertising business has ever seen.”
