San Juan Capistrano : District, Parents to Unveil Schools Plan
- Share via
After more than a year of work, parents and educators in the Capistrano Unified School District are set to unveil a long-term strategic plan known as Capistrano 2000: A Blueprint for Excellence.
The district Board of Trustees will consider the plan during two special hearings: Monday at 6:30 p.m. at the San Clemente High School Triton Center and Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. in the Fred Newhart Middle School Mutipurpose Room in Mission Viejo.
Work on the plan started a year ago, when three town hall forums were held, giving community members a chance to voice concerns and aspirations about the future of education.
In late January, 1992, a 51-member planning team met for 2 1/2 days to develop the basic structure of the plan, including a mission statement, statements of fundamental beliefs, six long-range goals and 14 accompanying strategies for reaching these goals.
More than 400 parents, community members, students and district employees have worked on 14 action teams to develop the various strategies.
For more information on the plan, contact the district (714) 489-7404.
