Briefly: NBC News executive Steve Friedman (with co-author Rosemary Ford) has published a novel, “Station Break,” that has a timely plot-line. It’s about a local-TV news reporter who lands an interview with a right-wing, survivalist cult leader. . . . KLON-FM (88.1), a jazz format radio station operated out of Cal State Long Beach, has been named 1992 station of the year by the Associated Press Television-Radio Assn. of California-Nevada.
