Occidental Ordered to Sell 2 Plants: The Federal Trade Commission ordered Occidental Petroleum Corp. to sell two plastics plants it bought from Tenneco Polymers Inc., saying the acquisition was likely to hurt competition in the U.S. market. Occidental bought the plants from Tenneco through its Occidental Chemical Corp. unit. The FTC gave Occidental a year to sell the two sites, a polyvinyl chloride plant in Pasadena, Tex., and a Burlington, N.J., plant that produces a resin used to make plastic products.
