The Pacific Symphony has been given $37,800 and the Laguna Art Museum was awarded $3,000 in the latest series of federal matching grants from the National Endowment for the Arts.
The orchestra will use the money to engage American soloists and guest conductors; for outreach programs, and for the performance of contemporary American works. The museum will use its grant to conserve paintings in its permanent collection.
The endowment awarded a total of $53 million to 1,100 artists and organizations nationwide in this round of grants, which must be matched one-to-one with non-federal funds.
