Chavez Tribute: Los Angeles’ arts community will pay tribute to the recently deceased farm labor leader Cesar Chavez on Saturday during a 2-5 p.m. program at the Watts Towers Arts Center. The event includes an art exhibition by Wayne Healy, a performance by the group Templo Flor-Indigenous People, and poetry readings by Naomi Quinonez (“Invocation LA,” “Hummingbird Dream”) and Eric Priestly (“Raw Dogs,” “Flame and Smoke”). In a separate program at UCLA Saturday, the Fourth Annual UCLA Chicano Film & Video Festival will also recognize Chavez, as well as the late Mexican actor Cantinflas, and Chicano music and television figures Lalo Guerrero and Lupita Beltran.
