Two anti-abortion activists, including the head of Operation Rescue, pleaded no contest last week to harassing patients at a medical clinic earlier this year.
Randal Terry and Jeffrey White were arrested Feb. 13 after walking into Her Medical Clinic at 2700 S. Figueroa St. and shouting “murderers” at a crowd in the clinic’s waiting room. Terry, 34, is the national head of the anti-abortion group Operation Rescue. White, 35, is president of the Southern California chapter of the organization.
White pleaded no contest Monday to one count of trespassing and was sentenced to 17 days in jail. Terry pleaded no contest to the same charge and was fined $500 and placed on three years’ probation.
White, who began serving his jail term Tuesday, could not be reached for comment. Terry did not return calls.
