Testifying in federal court in Chicago in an NBA suit against WGN regarding the telecast of Chicago Bull games, NBC President Dick Ebersol said Thursday that unless the NFL reduces its revenue demands, NBC “will be out of football next year.”
Estimates are that the network will lose $88 million on football this season, the final year of its current $792-million contract. “There’s no way I can justify that,” Ebersol said.
Ebersol was unavailable for comment Friday.
