Councilwoman Chick Has Let Down Neighborhood

* In answer to City Councilwoman Laura Chick’s article (Oct. 17) concerning land-use controversies, we would say that Laura Chick is a typical professional politician who had no regard or concerns for 150 Keswick-Louise Avenue neighborhood homeowners.
Her claim of serving and listening to all her constituents is totally false. The only one she served in our case was the applicant, while the homeowners were left in the dark. The only time we got a meeting with Chick was when we demanded it (18 calls were made to her office in Los Angeles, and we were given the runaround).
We were never told of the new driveway on Louise Avenue until we read about it in the paper when she answered my protest letter.
Laura Chick backed a day-care center for 24 children on a corner in our residential neighborhood, which leaves the homeowners with an extremely unsafe hazardous traffic condition on Louise Avenue due to a new driveway on Louise Avenue. She approved converting an R-1 house into a business, and now our property values are lowered by several thousands of dollars!
Then she tells us, “I want to serve you!” What a joke!
