NEWBURY PARK : 2 Arrested as Suspects in Car Burglaries

Sheriff’s deputies arrested two Newbury Park men on suspicion of burglarizing cars in the parking lot of Ottavio’s Italian Restaurant in Westlake, authorities said Saturday.
Carlos Mejia, 22, and Alexander Guardado, 19, were booked into the East Valley Jail after officers, responding at 7:40 p.m. Friday to numerous calls of auto burglary in the restaurant’s parking lot, found the men near the parking lot.
Witnesses identified Mejia and Guardado as the two men they had seen breaking into several cars, sheriff’s deputies said.
One of the men--sheriff’s deputies could not say which--had a stolen car stereo in his possession when he was arrested.
