Maroun Baghdadi, 43, a Lebanese movie director known for his vivid portrayal of Lebanon’s civil war. Baghdadi worked with Hollywood producer and director Francis Ford Coppola and made six films in French. He was best known, particularly in the Arab world and Europe, for his 1979 film “Little Wars,” a narrative on the brutalities of Lebanon’s 1975-90 civil war.
