L.A. Distributor Gets Expansion Loan: Bank of America said it made an $8-million loan to Dependable Highway Express and its affiliate, Dependable Hawaiian Express Inc., which will enable the firms to acquire a 1.7-million-square-foot facility in downtown Los Angeles. The purchase will enable the firm’s distribution operations to expand, which is expected to provide 250 jobs in an area targeted for economic relief after last year’s riots. The various Dependable entities provide warehouse functions, trucking services and freight forwarding to Hawaii and Guam.
