Thank You for the Greenbelt, but . . .

I want to thank the city officials of Oxnard for their approval of a greenbelt between Ventura and Oxnard. One wonders about the sincerity of such approval when large tracts of farmland elsewhere are being earmarked for development, specifically, 856 acres in northwest Oxnard and hundreds more at Ormond Beach.
Also noteworthy is the way a new high school (with no water supply) is being built out in the middle of prime agricultural land west of Patterson Road.
The old high school was deemed unsafe because of its proximity to Oxnard Airport. How then can approval be given for a fast food restaurant that is even closer to the runway than the school was? Are fast food eaters more expendable than students, or do we have city leaders whose main concern is to increase the tax base?
