Girl, 16, Fatally Shot While Sitting in Car

DANA POINT — A 16-year-old girl was fatally shot Monday as she sat in a parked car on Domingo Avenue, police said.
The girl, who was not identified, was hit by a single one shot about 6:45 p.m., according to Sheriff’s Lt. William J. Francis. She was taken to Samaritan Medical Center in San Clemente, where she was pronounced dead, police said.
Her killer remains at large, and police had no further details.
The killing, which occurred in Capistrano Beach, was the county’s 203rd slaying this year, according to the coroner’s office. In 1992, 186 homicides occurred in Orange County, which set a record.
