CALABASAS : Mureau Road Repair Project to Begin
- Share via
Road repairs are slated to begin Monday on Mureau Road between Las Virgenes and Calabasas roads in Calabasas, a Los Angeles County Public Works Department representative said Wednesday.
The work, which includes resurfacing the road as well as installation of a guardrail, will be performed under a $128,629 contract awarded to Berry General Engineering Contractors Inc., of Oxnard.
Traffic lanes on Mureau and Round Meadow roads will be reduced during daytime work hours. All lanes will be open in the evenings.
The job is expected to take 25 working days to complete.
Besides making the route safer for motorists, County Supervisor Ed Edelman said the improvements will reduce maintenance costs on the road in the long run, as well as extend the life of the roadway.
“This is just regular maintenance,” said Joel Bellman, an Edelman aide.
Bellman said the cost of work may be subject to partial reimbursement under the Federal Surface Transportation Program.
