Amusements: Shares in Disney’s troubled European theme park slumped Monday following a newspaper report that some banks were trying to sell their Euro Disney loans at a 45% discount on the secondary debt market, dealers said.
The stock was 60 cents lower at $5, with 433,200 shares traded on the Paris Bourse in a market that was generally sharply higher. Shares of Walt Disney Co. were down 37.5 cents to $44.375 on the New York Stock Exchange.
The French business daily La Tribune Desfosses said a handful of banks were offering their Euro Disney loans at 55% of face value but that no buyers were found at that level.
