Clouds, Fog, Drizzle Expected to Continue

Ventura County motorists can expect to use their headlights and flick on their windshield wipers again this morning as weather forecasters called for more low clouds, fog and even a little drizzle for certain areas in the region.
“This is going to be a broken record for a while,” said Clay Morgan, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Oxnard. “It’s pretty typical for this time of year.”
But Morgan said the trace of drizzle recorded at Point Mugu and Ventura on Sunday morning caught even forecasters by surprise.
The misty morning weather gave way to scattered sunshine by late afternoon, prompting a light crowd of intrepid beach-goers to hit the sand.
Casey Culp, a lifeguard at San Buenaventura State Beach, said a few hundred beach-goers braved the cool temperatures but that most chose to stay out of the water.
“It was pretty slow out here,” Culp said. “We were scheduled for a big day, but the weather didn’t materialize and the crowd didn’t show.”
Morgan said the pattern of low clouds and fog should remain in the county for the next few days, with daytime highs reaching the low 70s and overnight lows hovering in the mid- to high 50s.
