Micropolis Expects Larger 2nd-Quarter Loss

Micropolis Corp., a Chatsworth maker of computer disk drives and other products, said it expects its net loss from operations for the quarter ending July 1 to be “significantly larger” than in its first quarter ended April 1, when it had a net loss of $9.76 million.
The company declined to state a reason for the larger loss, other than to say that its second-quarter revenue and profit margins would shrink. It said that its cash position would be reduced to $72 million as of July 1 from $82 million on April 1.
Micropolis also said it expects its operating loss in its third quarter will be greater than the approximately $4.5 million that analysts have projected.
